Neon Lights

I took this picture the other night in Providence, Rhode Island. I had a vision in mind of shooting next to neon lights but they are hard to find without looking awkward in front of a bar. We ended up finding this light in front of a closed down tattoo shop. Kristin was super patient with me throughout the shoot, despite the fact that I wanted to stay forever. This ended up working out perfectly to look like a good and evil or heaven and hell imagery. What I mean is that the top right corner has a cool blue and the bottom left corner has a darker feel. My camera for the night was a Nikon D810 with a 50mm f/1.4. I hope you like the results. Please follow and like...

Wonder

If you have ever seen Brandon Wolfel’s photography, then you know where I got this idea from. When I had the idea of shooting photos with fairy lights I started looking up photos and that’s where I stumbled upon one of Brandon’s. I loved the fairy tale feel and look of wonder that many of his photos had and I already pictured the idea in my head already for what I wanted. For this, I just used fairy tale lights in a mason jar and found some cheap clear tortoise shell glasses on amazon. I just put my nightstand light behind her head for a hair light and the fairy lights were the only lights from the front. I used my Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 for this shot. Hope you like the results.
