Wonder

If you have ever seen Brandon Wolfel’s photography, then you know where I got this idea from. When I had the idea of shooting photos with fairy lights I started looking up photos and that’s where I stumbled upon one of Brandon’s. I loved the fairy tale feel and look of wonder that many of his photos had and I already pictured the idea in my head already for what I wanted. For this, I just used fairy tale lights in a mason jar and found some cheap clear tortoise shell glasses on amazon. I just put my nightstand light behind her head for a hair light and the fairy lights were the only lights from the front. I used my Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 for this shot. Hope you like the results. Merry Christmas

Since it is the Christmas season, I figured a holiday picture was appropriate. I took this several weeks ago when I visited the Newport Mansions in Newport, Rhode Island. They go all out with the decorations and it is great for photos. This was the first time I tried taking handheld pictures in a low-light environment and I used some new techniques. By creating a smart object and using the median of several images, it greatly reduced the noise. Additionally, I have been using less destructive editing techniques and spending more time in Lightroom. For this photo, I adjusted the colors, faded out the black, added a curves layer, and put a vignette around it. I hope you like the results. Please follow and like...
